About Our Company
Ellopia Media Group was created in 1999 with the objective to promote and expose the Hellenic culture here and in the Diaspora via television programming, documentaries from our travels throughout the world, news articles and various topics of interest. Ellopia strives to bring a creative and human approach to its subjects and broadcasts in all of its production endeavors. It aims to address all issues of concern to the Hellenic, Hellenic-American and International communities, and to inform and educate through biographies of artists, musicians, poets and politicians, as well as through coverage of special, educational, religious and cultural events of Hellenes and the International cultural community. It aims to bring the cultural community “a step ahead and a world beyond”. About Ellopia’s creator - Athina Krikeli is the creator and CEO of Ellopia Media Group. ¨ Through her work as a documentarian, Athina Krikeli was awarded for her program “On the Move”, winning Best Documentary Abroad in 2001 for “The Enclaved”, her coverage on an area of the occupied region of northern Cyprus. It was given by Constantinos Stefanopoulos, the President of the Hellenic Democracy.¨ In 1999, Athina Krikeli was awarded by the Hellenic government for her reportage on the Holy Epiphany celebration in Florida.¨ In 1998, she was awarded by the Pancyprian Society of Special Forces of Cyprus for concerts, proceeds of which went to the children of the enslaved of Cyprus.¨ In 1997, she was awarded by former Mayor of New York Rudolph Guiliani for her contribution to New York culture.¨ She is the only Hellenic woman who votes for the Emmys and the New York festivals.¨ She is a correspondent for the Voice of America in New York, and a political correspondent for ERT 3, the national television of northern Greece.¨ Her radio show “Ta Dika Mas” is the only Hellenic program showcased on a permanent exhibition at the Museum of Television and Radio in New York.¨ She is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS), the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and the United Nations Correspondent Association (UNCA) |
